2025 Recap

AeLa team

2025 was another doozy of a year for AeLa, so here's a recap of everything that happened!

Australia Did It

For the majority of the year, we have been hard at work on the recently announced Australia Did It! We learned so much from the project and from our wonderful teammates… many of whom we got to meet in person during a team trip to Iceland in the spring!

Reboot Blue

Straight from Iceland, we then flew over to Croatia for Reboot Blue, where we had a wonderful time on a panel about AeLa's journey with support from Rami Ismail. Reboot Blue was a tremendous conference and we hope to return in the near future.

Udder Steam release

Around the time that Australia was announced to the public, AeLa also released our 2019 mobile title Udder for Steam… at the exact same time that Silksong was released. One of those games crashed the Steam storefront! We think there was a good chance it was Udder's fault.

The next thing!!

As we wrap up development on Australia Did It, we're just getting started on our next secret project. We're having a great time with the new team & project - and we're looking forward to sharing it with you all!

Merch

In the meantime, If you want to support what we do, you can check out the HOT new merch designs that Aidan whipped up on our Cotton Bureau storefront (Subtle and Bouquet, both of which are embroidered instead of printed!) and you can keep an eye out for announcements about all our games on the AeLa Discord server.

Finally...

We'd be remiss not to acknowledge that 2025 was yet another challenging year for our industry, for our local communities, for the country in which we live, and for the world at large.

AeLa is a small operation and keeping ourselves afloat for the past couple of years has been quite a challenge. That said, our AeLa Anticapitalist Aid program was designed to help us still manage to give back in some capacity. Through AAA we gave $735 USD to St. Joseph's House of Hospitality, an org in our city that supports our neighbors experiencing homelessness through hygiene, clothing, and food services. We missed our recap post last year, so just for the accountants out there we also gave $829.50 to St. Joe's in 2024.

It has been hell out there in the games industry for the past couple of years. We are incredibly thankful that we have been able to weather the storm and keep making games among... gestures vaguely. To all the wonderful folks who supported us individually, supported our team, and supported our various projects - thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.

Here's to a 2026 with more hope, more jobs, more compassion for each other, and a free Palestine. 💖
